Bio
Matt Gerhard is an engineer/producer, guitarist, and multi‐instrumentalist. While living in Bethlehem, PA Matt was heavily involved in the music scene playing shows throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland. While in high school Matt became interested in new instruments and began playing Mandolin, Lap Steel, Bass, Drums, and began recording in his parent's garage with a four‐track cassette recorder.
After becoming fascinated with the art of sound recording Matt relocated to Boston, MA where he is currently studying Music Production and Engineering at Berklee College of Music. While at Berklee Matt has been given the opportunity to study with many skilled producers and engineers such as Prince Charles Alexander (Notorious B.I.G.), and Ted Paduck (Nine Inch Nails).
Matt is anticipated to graduate in December 2010. After Berklee Matt plans to move to either Austin, TX or Portland, OR and intern at a professional recording studio, while developing a career as a freelance Engineer/Producer.
Matt has performed with Trouble City All‐Stars (Roots‐Rock‐Reggae), Thanks Giving (Folk‐Country), The Kate Gaffney Band (Folk‐Country), Stone Fish (Pop‐Rock), The Octave Below (Indie Rock‐Jazz), Wildflower Open Mic House Band, Sarah Jane Pugh & The Explosion (Jazz), The Lounge Swarm (Avant Garde), The Frumps (Experimental).
Matt has produced/engineered, Greenline Inbound (Funk‐Hip‐Hop), Pete Jacobs (Rock), Shapes and Numbers (Indie‐Rock), Laurence Rodman (Bluegrass), Neil Cleary (Rock), Moss Points North (Folk‐Rock), and The Storrows (Bluegrass).
